Travel Finland,Lake Vacations

Planning to travel Finland for a camping holiday or just a a quick visit, one of the lakes regions that is highly recommended is Lake Saimaa
in south eastern Finland. As the fourth largest lake in Europe and the largest lake in Finland it has many beautiful sights for camping and hiking to make your travel Finland trip unforgetable. The actual lake Saimaa is populated by more than 15000 islands which are accessible if you have access to a boat, however many are connected with small bridges so access by car is possible.Lake Saimaa offers a perfect family holiday destination to travel Finland

Travel Finland Lake Saimaa Information

Lake Saimaa is one of the largest lakes that make up the Saimaa basin which consists of more than 125 smaller lakes. The surrounding habitat is heavily forested and ideal to get away from the hectic drum of daily life many of us lead back in our home areas.Lake Saimaa covers some 1860 sq miles(4800 sq km),great area to travel finland. There are many national parks one can visit for a real nature experience and with the many lakes around you are guaranteed a peaceful lake vacation and experience..Apart from trekking and exploring the surrounding unspoilt nature there are plenty of opportunities for swimming, fishing, water sports, boating trips and even horse riding. One such organisation that offers expert advice on Lake Saimaa vacations in Saimaa Holidays

Surrounding the lake there are several major towns,Lappeenranta,Mikkeli,Imatra and Savonlinna, home of the world famous Opera Festival. Many of these towns offer a good selection of eating places and continuously put on festivals, shows and local happenings

I travel Finland and visit Lappeenranta twice a year,in winter and summer. Both seasons have a very distinct feel and look, but both offer a tranquillity and cleanliness that is hard to find anywhere in the world. You will immediately feel the unrushed nature of the area upon arrival and the local delicacies that can be found are absolutely mouth watering,Muikko,a small lake fish is fried often around the lake side and is perfect as an accompaniment to a Finland Lake evening .Throw in a Finnish sauna, good company and a awe inspiring Finnish summer sunset and you have the perfect lake vacation

Travel Finland to Lappeenranta

As we have a Finnish country cottage close to Lappeenranta,it is natural that to visit the city for groceries, entertainment and socializing. The area of Lappeenranta is a vibrant city in the summer months, with many music concerts, festivals and exhibitions. There are daily cruises down the Saimaa canal, connecting Lappeenranta and Vyborg. You may also be lucky when you travel Finland and see one or two of the now endangered  freshwater seals(Saimaa Ringed Seal). There are currently only 200 left and are a constant source of observation for wild life specialists who are attempting to keep the species from dyeing out.Last summer a lone wild bear ventured up the Saimaa Canal and had to be caught and returned to the deep forest area

The Saimaa Seal

Men will play and last summer students from one of the academies based in Lappeenranta built a huge sand castle in the centre of Lappeenranta,it stood at over6 meters tall and was very impressive to look at.The attention to detail was exemplary

Should you be looking to travel Finland or simply be visiting for a short lake vacation,it is well worth remembering to pay Lake Saimaa a visit and the surrounding nature parks and towns of Imatra,Lappeenranta,Jouensuu and Savonlinna

Hey there would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re utilizing? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 completely different browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most. Can you suggest a good web hosting provider at a honest price? Many thanks, I appreciate it!

gigs » I would personally reccommendhttp://secure.hostgator.com/~affiliat/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=greg0311 “> Hostgator. You can begin with the basic hatchling pland and if needed later due to having many page hits you can easily upgrade.
Hostgator offer exceptional servive and support,Only aq few weeks ago they cleared all my files in the file manager.Total space saved:13GB.Hostgator did this at no charge and it took the man approximately 7 hours to do.

That is what I call; GOOD SERVICE!

Traveling is existential. When you travel, everything around you is new and interesting. You forget about the inside of your own head, because you’re focused on the external world.

Thanks for your observation,
There is an animal in the lake names a Saimaa Ringed Seal. which is close to extinction and on the American endangered species list.
As mentioned all efforts are being used to keep this marvellous animal from dissappearing
