Hi once again
This morning I have just returned from iris, a visually impaired assessment center..The whole experience was to Say the very least, very beneficial and eye opening(no pun).I have been assessed as 100% visually impaired and as a result have been issued with a White Cane
I first need to catch up with overdue emails and replies to comments left by readers.I shall then put together a full account of the whole experience and the assessment process, results and where I go from here.
My first reaction to the white cane, was I dont want it,as walking with it,you are declaring to the world that you are visually disabled. This was the biggest challenge for me to overcome. It has however made my daily moving around outside far more easier and in many ways has given me a new confidence. If you can bear to wait, there will be a far more detailed update to this short post in the coming day`s
I did find that being visually impaired and carrying the white cane, does not necessarily limit my ambitions and hope for the future.I greatly appreciate the time spent on me at The Iiris center
