10 Tips on How to Emigrate abroad successfully

Emigrate Abroad With Success       Emigrate

The last few days here in Helsinki Finland have been absolutely beautiful.Spring has now begun to show the its rich colors and the sun is now above the horizon upon waking and high when retiring to bed,All but a few solitary dunes of snow lie almost discarded from a forgotten past.Part of the reason I chose to emigrate

I actually went out for a long walk this morning and basked in the suns halo.It was a good time to reflect on the last 5 months and years on how I got to Emigrate to aFinland and  living abroad. As you will no doubt know from these Blog pages.I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.declared 100% visually disabled and gotten over the worst winter for some years.

Choosing the right country to Emigrate to

Looking back from my own journey and choice to emigrate to Finland:I can truthfully say that I was lucky and was dealt a good poker hand to play. With hindsight I feel I have been very fortunate in that I like the Finnish way of life, the Finnish culture, mentality and even the weather for good or worse.I could equally have settled in Australia as was offered to me at the time and been very unhappy,My choice to emigrate to Finland was the right one for many reasons found on my Blog

The point I make is to think a little about what you care about now where you are and really think if you could live without them for some considerable time after moving away from your home country

Some best tips to remember5 before leaving home to settle abroad

My personal 10 Tips to Successful Emigrate

  1. Get some knowledge of the local culture, how the people converse and what is their impressions of Foreigners. It is not impossible to overcome even if the local people should turn out to greet you with hostility or condescendingly. It does however make your transition easier if you are welcomed with open hearts and minds
  2. Do you like the local food?..By that I mean the food that normal people eat on a daily basis not what you have come to expect in your local haute cuisine restaurant back home
  3. Check and try to understand the local religious traditions. It can be very simply done to put your foot in it if you speak out of turn or place
  4. A best tip is what are the weather conditions like where you plan to move to?.It may sound like a dream come true to live in snow/clean white environment, but on a daily basis it can become frustrating and  at times feel more like a ball and chain around your ankle. The same applies to sunny places.Fortunately for me I like the cold as my body suffers from heat as a result of MS
  5. Make sure that you either have a skill to find work or are financially stable enough to live whilst searching accommodation. It can be romantic to believe you can sleep on a sunny beach but it is not very practical.Remember Robinson Caruso did not have to go to work and look presentable.I tried in Nice and failed miserably
  6. Get all relevant visas sorted out before you depart.Believe Me I know from experience having to fight to remain in the country after a visitors permit expires
  7. Bring with you many work references as possible, they are like Gold Dust as it can be long and difficult to chase up former employees from overseas
  8. A Best tip is do not leave for obvious wrong reasons like breaking the law, romance break up and or family feuds.
  9. It is also a wise thing to place your passport and Identification in a safe place,This prevents you having to travel to your Embassy overseas and claiming you have no papers.Trust me it takes some time to replace unless you happen to know some one at your local Embassy
  10. Finally;to really make a success of your venture abroad try to find local expatriate communities either online in forums or Expatriate Societies that may already exist in the country. Its always very useful to make local friends and contacts as they will have a better understanding of the sources available to you in the area. Most important when attempting to settle in a new country,Be Respectful,Be Honest,Be Humble and greet all with open arms and open minds

Good luck;If like me you will never return to your old countries and be exceedingly happy with your new life abroad and thrill to Emigrate.that is the best tip to emmigrate

Hopefully the post can and will be of assistance to you and others.I was younger when I emigrated 22 years ago to Finland.Looking back,it may have been wiser to research first but I was young and fearless, brash and adventurous in those days!
